Type of Signal

1. Analog Signal- Analog signal is a continuous signal which represents physical measurements.
2. Digital Signal- Digital signals are discrete time signals generated by digital modulation.

Data Transmissions

There are two types of data transmissions modes:

1. Serial transmissions- All the bits transmited on a single line
2. Parallel transmissions- Seperate line for each bit

The best way to define communications is the act of transferring information from one place to another. For example human communications.

What is Telecommunications?

The best way to define telecommunications is a communication over distance by cable, telegraph, telephone or broadcasting.

The six elements of Communications Technology

1. People- Refer to the user of the computer.
2. Procedure- An order set of tasks for performing some action.
3. Data/Information- Informations stored on the computer system, used by applications to accomplish task.
4. Hardware- Any physical obejects that are part of the computer system.
5. Software- Instructions that controlls the functioning of computer.
6. Communications- Transmission of data.
